hi. I’m frank
Hi, I’m Frank Slowinski. I’m a wedding film maker, based in Rockford, IL, two hours west of Chicago, available worldwide. My work has been featured in online publications and I’m a preferred vendor, listed on multiple websites with several Chicago area luxury wedding venues and photographers. I’ve traveled overseas for work and started filming weddings after editing my own personal wedding! How cool is that?
I started filming weddings in 2013 and established Frank Slow Films in 2015 and transitioned into video production full time. I met my wife at Walgreens when we both were working as pharmacy technicians. People always have misspelled or mispronounced my name, so I simplified my last name to SLOW instead of SLOWINSKI, and the fact that i love and use slow motion film making techniques in my films was just a nice coincidence. I’ve even thought about specializing in slow motion with phantom flex cameras, the same cameras you see used on shark week and all of the marvel / super hero / action movies.
a little about my wedding
After a year of planning our wedding, everything zipped by in a flash on our wedding day. I actually edited my own wedding video, that you can see at the bottom of the page if you want to know more about me. I edited it together with a bit of a home video flair to it. (Cinematic wedding films were only JUST beginning to be a thing at the time / inaccessible and I was obsessed with the TV Show; “The Office”). After about a year of figuring out exactly how I wanted my wedding video to be like, I feel it has captured our love so well, and slows down time in that perfect chapter of our lives.
I feel my wedding video has actually saved our marriage countless times because of the beautiful snapshot of our lives, beautiful memories, now etched in my memory, and quotes captured from my brother Danny’s words of wisdom, my sister in law, Karen’s timeless words, Jake’s hilarious remarks, and my brother Tommy’s inability to recite Corinthians 13 (just kidding, he did an amazing job). I certainly love my wife, my family, and my wedding film that captures the essence of our love and unity.
Some BTS of my camera work.
